• These players have a sound that defies their status as a three-piece; drummer Thomas Duffy, bassist Jerel Johnson and guitarist/vocalist Tom Unish deliver intricate, rhythmically challenging songs that each feature a highly unique identity. Fans of more demanding bands such as The Plot to Blow up the Eiffel Tower or Secret Mommy will love this; particularly the more abrasive "Take Everything". There are unconventional harmonies to be found throughout Trembling Wires, most notably "Sneak On Up" and "Ghost". Quite often this requires multiple listens, as you need to deconstruct the layers which comprise the tracks. Division of Planes do not deliver ear candy, and we are all better off for it!

With Trembling Wires Division of Planes has achieved distinctive results, no single aspect from the early disjunctive art-punk of Gang of Four, Wire, and Mission of Burma, or the driving 90s guitar of Jawbox, Chavez and At the Drive-in, or the revitalizations of punk contemporaries Hot Snakes, Blood Brothers, or Parts & Labor dominates Division of Planes, and yet fans of these bands will have something to hang their ear on.
